AML Compliance Analyst

You'll play an important part in ensuring that client onboarding and ongoing matters meet the firm's anti-money laundering requirements, working closely with fee earners, clients and colleagues to identify potential risks and ensure the right information is obtained.
What's the role?
As an AML Compliance Analyst, you'll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of client due diligence and AML checks across a varied client base.
You'll investigate individuals and organisations, analyse complex corporate structures, identify ultimate beneficial owners and carry out screening for sanctions, PEPs and adverse media.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with detailed information, is comfortable managing competing priorities and can remain calm and methodical when dealing with time-sensitive situations.
What will you be doing?
You'll be involved in a varied range of AML and compliance activities, including:
- Undertaking Client Due Diligence (CDD) using the firm's compliance systems
- Carrying out electronic and other identification checks on individuals and organisations
- Obtaining corporate and other information from sources such as Companies House and equivalent overseas services
- Analysing corporate structures to establish ultimate individual beneficial owners (UBOs)
- Conducting AML checks across a wide range of entities, including trusts, funds, LLPs, PLCs, charities, pension schemes, housing associations, government bodies and financial institutions
- Reviewing information obtained and determining whether any further information is required, including analysing relevant financial information
- Maintaining accurate client identity records, including CDD and source of wealth information
- Conducting sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening using appropriate third-party systems
- Analysing CDD results and escalating potential AML issues to the relevant Specialist or Team Manager
- Reviewing new client and matter information to ensure the required details have been provided
- Recording and reporting suspicious transactions or activities efficiently and appropriately
- Ensuring identity checks are completed within the timescales set out in internal procedures
- Updating internal Client Relationship Management systems once checks have been completed
What are we looking for?
You'll ideally have previous experience within professional services compliance or a similar AML-focused environment.

Knowledge of UK AML, CTF, CPF and sanctions requirements would be advantageous, as would previous experience working within a professional services or legal environment.
