Role Overview
The Garage Build Technician will assist in the build and assembly of pit and garage equipment — including trolleys, rigs, benches, storage systems, and other bespoke motorsport equipment — to technical drawings and client specifications. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, precision, and pride in their workmanship. All tools are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and build pit/garage equipment in line with technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
- Fit and align mechanical components, fixings, and fittings accurately and efficiently
- Diagnose and resolve build-related issues during assembly, escalating where necessary
- Complete accurate build records and quality checklists/sign-off documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop area
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and the wider team to meet build schedules and deadlines
- Identify parts shortages, quality concerns, or process improvements and report these promptly
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
Skills & Experience
- Proven mechanical experience — e.g. as a mechanic, fitter, or in hands-on assembly/build roles
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Confident using hand and power tools (all tools provided)
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence (desirable, given the site location)
- Relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ/City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, or similar) desirable but not essential — practical experience will be given strong weighting
