Supervising Social Worker — **Living in a London area**
Location: London - office is in Stratford E15, caseload mainly in South London areas

Greater London Fostering is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Worker to join our supportive and passionate team. This is an excellent opportunity for any social worker looking to build strong relationships and make a real difference to the lives of children, families and carers in the London area.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for managing your own caseload, providing high-quality supervision and guidance to foster carers, and playing a key part in our commitment to outstanding outcomes for children and young people. This is a community-based role, so the ability to manage your time effectively and work independently is essential. You will work remotely, so must be self sufficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold and manage a small caseload of foster carers, ensuring tailored support and interventions that meet the needs of children in placement (max 10 families .
- Provide regular supervision, advice and support to foster carers, ensuring best practice and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Undertake thorough assessments, reviews and reports to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with a range of professionals, partner agencies and stakeholders to secure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
- Keep accurate, up-to-date records in line with organisational policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Act as an advocate for children and carers, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
What We’re Looking For
- A recognised Social Work qualification and valid Social Work England registration.
- Post-qualifying experience within fostering or children’s services would be good but we also welcome NQSW who are looking to do their AYSE, especially if you have fostering placement experience!
- Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and a supportive, solution-focused approach.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with an eye for detail.
- Experience of supervising or supporting other social workers is desirable.
