A&B Smith Domestic Appliance Warehouse – Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time White Goods Appliance Delivery Driver & Installer to join our team.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY – FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.
This is a hands-on and physically demanding role involving the delivery, installation and collection of domestic appliances including washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridge freezers, cookers and other white goods.
You do not need previous experience in appliance delivery or installation. We are more interested in finding someone who is reliable, hardworking, practical and willing to learn.
Hours
- 3 days per week
- Working days will be Monday to Friday
- The exact 3 days can be negotiated and agreed with the successful applicant
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Delivering domestic appliances to customers’ homes
- Safely carrying appliances into and out of customers’ properties
- Regular heavy lifting and moving of large domestic appliances
- Installing washing machines, dishwashers and other suitable appliances
- Disconnecting and removing customers’ old appliances where required
- Checking appliances are correctly positioned and working before leaving
- Explaining basic appliance operation to customers
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Preparing deliveries in the warehouse
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Keeping the delivery vehicle clean and organised
- Treating customers’ homes and property with care and respect
- Providing excellent customer service
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- For company vehicle insurance purposes, applicants must be aged 30 or over
- Be physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting
- Be comfortable lifting, carrying and manoeuvring large and heavy appliances
- Be reliable and punctual
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be friendly and confident dealing with customers
- Be practical and willing to learn
- Work well as part of a small team
- Take pride in doing a job properly
No previous experience is necessary.
Experience in white goods, removals, furniture delivery, plumbing, installation or similar work would be an advantage, but it is not required.
Full Training Provided
Full training will be provided, including:
- Safe appliance lifting and handling
- Safe delivery procedures
- Washing machine and dishwasher installation
- Appliance disconnection and removal
- Customer service
- Delivery procedures
- Safe working practices
