Mechanical & Electrical Fitter (Permanent) Ref: MEF08/26
Working as part of the Engineering team. Responsible for carrying out maintenance of plant and machinery to ensure delivery of safe and efficient Port operations.
Essential Criteria:
- Served a recognised mechanical or electrical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- A time served mechanical or electrical fitter with at least 3 years’ experience.
- Minimum 12 months experience of electrical maintenance on vehicles/machinery.
- Ability to prioritise own workload to ensure that repairs are completed within target times.
- Full current driving licence or, in the case of disabled applicants, access to a form of transport to enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post in full.
- Proficient IT skills to include experience using MS Office including email systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem solving skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of maintenance and repair of mobile harbour cranes, skid steers or wheel loaders.
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems, ideally gained through hands-on work or similar marine environments.
- Experience using asset management or maintenance software systems.
- Skilled across electrical, mechanical & hydraulic systems in heavy machinery.
