Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Workshop Manager to oversee daily operations within our workshop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workshop staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Plan and schedule maintenance, repairs, and production tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Oversee the utilisation of hand tools and power tools, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools, placing orders as necessary to prevent delays.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to uphold company standards.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on technical procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and staff attendance.
- Liaise with clients or suppliers as required to coordinate project requirements or procurement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and foster a positive team environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering, mechanics, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
