Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, supporting their physical and emotional well-being. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for supervising care staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the delivery of compassionate, person-centred care in a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional care services
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns promptly
- Support and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care
- Organise training sessions for staff on relevant topics including IT systems utilised within the care environment
- Drive organisational initiatives aimed at improving resident satisfaction and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a senior care or care home environment
- Supervising or leadership experience is essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and regulatory requirements in adult social care
- Competent IT skills for managing documentation and electronic records
- Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate resident outings or staff travel arrangements
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in senior care and enhancing residents’ quality of life
