About Moods Leeds
Moods Leeds is a new café, bar and restaurant opening inside the restored First White Cloth Hall on Kirkgate. The venue will bring together a daytime café, brunch offer, bar, restaurant and events space in one of Leeds’ most unique historic buildings.
We are looking for an experienced, confident barista to join our opening team and help set the standard for our coffee service from day one.
The role
This is a front facing role in a busy new venue, working across our grab and go coffee counter and café service. You will be preparing high quality coffee, serving customers, supporting the wider café team and helping create a warm, efficient and professional daytime offer.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in good coffee, good service and a clean, organised working environment.
Responsibilities
Preparing espresso based drinks to a high standard
Dialling in grinders and maintaining coffee quality through service
Serving customers at the counter and on the floor when needed
Preparing and serving pastries, cakes and light café items
Keeping the coffee station clean, stocked and organised
Following food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures
Supporting opening, closing and daily cleaning tasks
Working closely with the Café Supervisor, Head Barista and wider team
Helping create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers
What we are looking for
Previous barista experience is preferred
Confidence making espresso based drinks in a busy environment
Good customer service skills
A calm, friendly and professional manner
Reliability and good timekeeping
Ability to work well as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Interest in coffee, hospitality and high standards
Latte art experience would be a bonus, but attitude, consistency and reliability are more important.
What we offer
£12.21 to £13.00 per hour depending on experience
35 to 45 hours per week
