About the Role:
G1958 Digital Infrastructure UK Ltd is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Nottingham team. You will design, improve and support cloud infrastructure used across business applications, internal platforms and technical services.
This role is suited to an experienced cloud professional who is comfortable working across infrastructure, automation, security and operational reliability. You will collaborate with software engineers, platform teams and technical stakeholders to create scalable cloud environments that are stable, secure and easy to maintain.

Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure:
Design, deploy and maintain cloud environments that support applications and internal technology services.
Infrastructure Automation:
Create and maintain reusable automation for provisioning, configuration and infrastructure changes.
Cloud Networking:
Configure and troubleshoot virtual networks, routing, connectivity, firewalls and related cloud networking services.
Security:
Apply secure cloud configuration standards and support improvements to identity, access control, encryption and infrastructure protection.
Monitoring:
Maintain monitoring and alerting systems that provide clear visibility into cloud availability, capacity and performance.
Incident Support:
Investigate infrastructure incidents, identify root causes and implement improvements that reduce repeat failures.
Platform Reliability:
Review cloud services for availability, resilience and operational risk and recommend practical improvements.
Cost Management:
Monitor cloud resource usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency without reducing reliability.
Deployment Support:
Work with development teams to improve application deployment processes and resolve cloud environment issues.
Backup and Recovery:
Maintain appropriate backup, recovery and continuity arrangements for critical cloud services.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain clear documentation covering cloud architecture, configurations, operational processes and recovery procedures.
Technical Collaboration:
Work with software, security and infrastructure colleagues when planning new services, upgrades and cloud migrations.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Several years of professional experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps or a similar technical role.
Cloud Platforms:
Strong practical experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Infrastructure as Code:
Experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or equivalent technologies.
Automation:
Good scripting or automation skills using tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar languages.
Networking:
Strong understanding of cloud networking, DNS, routing, firewalls and secure connectivity.
Security Knowledge:
Good understanding of identity management, access control, encryption and secure cloud configuration practices.
Systems Knowledge:
Experience supporting Linux or Windows based infrastructure in production environments.
Troubleshooting:
Ability to investigate complex infrastructure issues methodically and implement reliable long term solutions.
Communication:
Strong spoken and written English with the ability to explain technical risks and recommendations clearly.
Organisation:
Ability to manage multiple infrastructure priorities, document changes and deliver technical work within agreed timelines.

Pay: £4,500.00-£5,400.00 per month
