Job Title: Outreach and Intervention Lead
Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Outreach and Intervention Lead Teacher to deliver specialist, targeted support for pupils with SEND. Working across school and home environments, you will play a vital role in removing barriers to learning, supporting emotional wellbeing, and enabling pupils to successfully re-engage with education.
This is a dynamic, mobile role where you will work closely with staff, families, and external professionals to implement high-impact interventions and secure positive long-term outcomes for pupils.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in core subjects, supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
Plan and deliver structured interventions (assess plan deliver- review) to close learning gaps
- Support pupils through transitions and reintegration into school, including home visits
- Use data, assessments, and feedback to monitor progress and demonstrate impact
- Work collaboratively with teachers, Heads of Department, and the SENCo to align support with curriculum priorities
- Provide in-class support, team teaching, and practical strategies to improve inclusive practice
- De-escalate behaviour and support emotional regulation using positive behaviour approaches
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent, joined-up support
What you will bring:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- A strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive practice
- Proven experience delivering targeted interventions and measuring impact
- Confidence using data to inform planning and provision
- Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
- Resilience, patience, and a calm, solution-focused approach
