Transport, Sales & Customer Service Coordinator
Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Transport, Sales & Customer Service Coordinator on behalf of a successful business based in Chester.
This is a varied role combining transport coordination, customer service, sales and administration. You’ll play a key part in ensuring customer orders are processed efficiently and deliveries are planned and completed successfully.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for coordinating daily deliveries, supporting customers and assisting with sales enquiries. Working closely with drivers, the yard, sales team and management, you’ll help keep the operation running smoothly in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily delivery routes and vehicle schedules.
- Arrange nationwide pallet deliveries and collections.
- Prepare delivery paperwork, manifests and loading information.
- Liaise with drivers, the yard and third-party transport providers.
- Monitor deliveries and resolve delays, access issues and failed deliveries.
- Handle customer enquiries via telephone, email and in person.
- Take orders, prepare quotations and follow up enquiries.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and order values.
- Keep customers updated throughout the delivery process.
- Deal professionally with queries, complaints and delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate customer, order and transport records.
- Ensure information is communicated effectively across departments.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and commercially minded, with excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm when things get busy.
You’ll ideally have previous experience in transport, logistics, sales, customer service or a similar fast-paced environment. Experience with transport planning, route scheduling, pallet networks or telephone sales would be advantageous, but full training on internal systems will be provided.
The Package
- £29,000 – £32,000 salary, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays
