Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista and Coffee Shop Assistant to join our coffee shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, cake and customer service, ensuring that every customer has a delightful experience. This role involves basic food preparation where required, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in the daily operations of the coffee shop.
Our opening hours are 10-4 Mon-Fri and 9-4 Sat. You must be available to work on Saturdays as this will form part of your shifts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have.
- Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
- Handle transactions accurately, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing payments.
- Support team members by helping with tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations throughout the day.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service or coffee shop environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is required to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic maths skills for processing payments accurately.
- A friendly disposition and willingness to help customers and colleagues alike.
