Weekend Chef / Cook – Part Time
The Garden Room Café is a new café opening soon in Poole, and we are looking for a reliable and experienced Weekend Chef / Cook to join our team.
This is a part-time weekend position, ideal for someone who has experience preparing fresh café-style food, breakfast, brunch, light lunches and simple quality dishes in a clean and organised kitchen.
Main responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking food to a high standard
- Supporting breakfast, brunch and lunch service
- Preparing ingredients before service
- Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and organised
- Following food hygiene and safety standards
- Managing food stock and reducing waste
- Working calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Helping develop a positive and professional kitchen environment
- Communicating well with front-of-house staff
Requirements
- Previous chef, cook or kitchen experience required
- Experience in a café, restaurant, brunch or breakfast environment preferred
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work weekends
- Able to work independently when needed
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred
- Food Hygiene Certificate preferred, but not essential
- Experience preparing breakfast, brunch, sandwiches, salads, cakes or café-style dishes
- Ability to help with menu ideas would be a plus
