About the Role
We are a well-established refrigeration company based in Wolverhampton, seeking a reliable and capable Refrigeration Equipment Handler & Delivery Driver to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining professional driving with active participation in the safe loading, unloading, and installation assistance of heavy refrigeration units at customer premises across England and Wales. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, customer-focused, and take pride in delivering an exceptional service on behalf of our company.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport refrigeration equipment to customer sites across England and Wales using company vehicles
Load and unload heavy refrigeration units, making appropriate use of assisted lifting equipment where provided
Assist with basic installation setup under the guidance of qualified engineers when required
Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company standards
Perform pre-delivery inspections of goods and report any damages or discrepancies promptly
Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain customer signatures as proof of receipt
Adhere to all health and safety procedures when handling heavy equipment and operating vehicles
Keep the delivery vehicle clean, fuelled, and in a well-maintained condition, reporting defects immediately
Requirements
Essential:
Valid UK Category C (18T) driving licence
Valid Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph card
Valid forklift driving licence
Minimum two years of professional driving experience
Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and manoeuvre heavy items
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, professional customer service attitude
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Fluent English, both spoken and written, for clear communication with clients and the wider team
Strong time management and organisational skills
Desirable:
Previous experience in delivery driving, warehouse work, or manual handling
Knowledge of the England and Wales road network
