Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting, sensors, and control modules
- Use diagnostic equipment and electrical testing tools to identify and resolve electrical faults
- Read and interpret automotive wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, electrical testing equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow detailed maintenance procedures to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and equipment repair to handle large parts or assemblies safely
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used and repair descriptions
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Strong automotive electrical knowledge and experience diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical and electronic systems
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment, multimeters, electrical testing tools, and fault-finding equipment
- Ability to diagnose electrical faults involving wiring, batteries, charging systems, starting systems, lighting, sensors, electronic control units, and other vehicle electrical components
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for accurate mechanical and electrical diagnostics
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Prior experience as an automotive mechanic with electrical/electronic repair experience is preferred
- A qualified or experienced automotive electrician/mechanic, or someone with strong experience in both mechanical and automotive electrical work, is required
- Willingness to continue learning and keep up to date with modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
