We are looking for a skilled HGV, Plant & Equipment Fitter to join our team, responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Service, inspect and maintain HGVs, trailers (including bulk pressurised tanks), and plant equipment
· Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
· Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual testing and ensure compliance with Operator’s Licence standards
· Maintain accurate service and repair records
· Respond to breakdowns and minimise operational downtime
About You
· Proven experience with HGVs, plant or similar heavy equipment
· Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
· Strong diagnostics and fault-finding capability
· Reliable, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
· Committed to high safety and compliance standards
· Flexible approach to duties and working hours
Requirements
· Essential
o Full UK driving licence
o HGV Class 1 licence (training may be provided for the right candidate)
o NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent)
· Preferable
o Plant maintenance certificate / experience with Volvo loading shovels and forklift trucks
o Welding and fabrications skills
o IRTEC accreditation
