We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant on a fixed term contract to become a valued part of our nursery team for a minimum of 6 months.
Set in an idyllic location in the pretty village of Findern, The Old Forge is a an OUTSTANDING award winning nursery. Accredited by Food for the Brain - Awarded "Excellent", our menus are designed for brain development, long-term wellbeing and flavour exploration.
The nursery is always busy with 100 children in attendance daily from 0-4 years. The kitchen assistant position is an extremely valued role within the nursery, and you will be required to be very organised and able to communicate with staff and management.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the kitchen with pot washing and basic food preparation
- Laundry duties
- Helping to serve meals to children of different ages
- Awareness of and ability to understand guidelines around food allergies and intolerances
- Assisting to ensure the nursery environment is always clean and tidy
- Must have a high standard of cleanliness
- Opportunity to develop skills and step into the cook role during annual leave cover once trained
Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.30pm.
This role is dependent on an enhanced DBS disclosure and at least 2 satisfactory references.
