Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This vital role supports the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment and committed to delivering excellent service. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting.
Duties
- Responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations.
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed diligently during daily operations.
- Support in restocking supplies and ensuring the kitchen remains organised at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or similar environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with kitchen safety protocols and hygiene standards is beneficial.
- A proactive attitude with good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a positive approach to customer service.
