We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Commis Chef / Kitchen Porter to join our friendly team at The Hinchliffe Arms.
This is a varied role that combines the responsibilities of both a Commis Chef and a Kitchen Porter, making it ideal for someone who enjoys all aspects of working in a busy kitchen environment and wants to develop their culinary skills.
About the Role
You’ll be an important part of our kitchen team, supporting food preparation and service while also helping to maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with food preparation and cooking
- Preparing ingredients and basic dishes
- Maintaining high food hygiene standards
- Supporting the chefs during busy service periods
- Washing dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Keeping kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised
- Receiving and storing deliveries
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
This role involves an approximately equal mix of kitchen preparation/cooking and kitchen porter duties, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to get stuck into every aspect of kitchen life.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Team player with a friendly and professional attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
