Job Title: Registered General Nurse ( 1 Night per Week)
Location: Service User’s Home, Cheshunt
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to provide high-quality, person-centred care for a client in their own home in Cheshunt. This role involves working one night shift per week, ensuring the client’s safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
You will be responsible for managing complex needs, including Diabetes management, PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) care, and Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI). The role includes administering medication, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to deliver exceptional care.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Patient Support
- Provide high-quality nursing care in line with care plans, policies, and best practices.
- Continuously assess and monitor the client’s health condition throughout the shift.
- Deliver specialist care, including:
- Diabetes management (blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and complication prevention).
- PEG feeding and site care, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Support for Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) through appropriate interventions and care planning.
- Administer medications safely and in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in the client’s condition.
- Regularly update and maintain the client’s care plan to reflect evolving needs.
Support & Supervision
- Work closely with family members, carers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic, person-centered care.
- Provide guidance and support to healthcare assistants or carers involved in the client’s care.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and positive home environment for the client.
Compliance & Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Adhere to regulatory standards, including CQC (Care Quality Commission) guidelines.
- Follow strict infection control, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
Communication & Collaboration
- Liaise with the client, their family, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide comprehensive handovers to ensure continuity of care across shifts.
- Offer emotional support to the client and their family members as needed.
RequirementsQualifications & Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN/RGN) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Minimum of 5* years’ experience* in a nursing role (preferably in home care or complex care settings).
- Essential experience in:
- Diabetes management (monitoring, insulin administration, and prevention of complications).
- PEG care (feeding, site management, and troubleshooting).
- Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) (care, rehabilitation, and symptom management).
- Experience in elderly care, dementia care, or neurological conditions (preferred).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 13.0 per week
