At Upton Grange, we are committed to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to those who need it most. We are currently seeking a Chef to lead our kitchen operations and deliver nutritious, well‑balanced meals for our residents.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking meals that meet dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation. You will work closely with the care team and kitchen staff to create a positive and enjoyable mealtime experience that supports resident wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals for residents in line with menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure all meals meet individual dietary needs, including allergies, modified textures, and special diets
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation at all times
- Manage stock control, ordering, storage, and rotation of food supplies
- Supervise and support kitchen assistants, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and infection control regulations
- Maintain accurate records in line with environmental health and care standards
- Promote a warm, dignified, and person‑centred dining experience for residents
Experience
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within a care, healthcare, or hospitality environment
- Good understanding of nutritional needs, particularly for older or vulnerable individuals
- Ability to manage a kitchen independently and work as part of a wider care team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a respectful, compassionate approach
