We are looking for one or two waiting/counter staff to join our friendly team at our speciality Fish and Chip restaurant on Teignmouth sea-front. You must have a natural way about you that makes you extremely personable and polite and have a ‘can do attitude’.
We are a small, friendly team with colleague relationships being important to us, so successful candidates must be will to ‘muck in’ and help other team members when needed.
Full training will be provided, however previous experience in a waiting or a customer service role is a bonus. Successful candidates will also be expected to learn the restaurant side of the shop for shift flexibility and to be able to help other team members when under pressure.
Responsibilities and Duties
Your day-to-day tasks will include: -
Following our standard operating procedures for all services;
- Accurately taking orders via an Epos touchscreen system and delivering orders to the table.
- Preparing drinks.
- Handling and serving food to takeaway customers.
- Attending customers in a friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Dealing with bill payments and ensuring accuracy.
- PDQ machine and cash handling.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and kitchen area
- Washing pots and cutlery (busy times a kitchen porter provides support)
- Re-stocking the restaurant drinks fridges.
- Polishing glassware, cutlery and crockery.
- Clearing tables.
- Laying/Re-laying tables.
You will also need to be on hand to converse with our customers, answering any questions knowledgeably about the food, the surrounding area and what Teignmouth can offer them.
Flexible hours available but shift patterns vary and are Monday-Sunday.
Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old.
