Personal Assistant / Carer (Self-Employed or Willing to Register)
Location: Treforest, Pontypridd
Rate: £16.85 per hour (day shifts)
Shifts: Split shifts on Saturday and Sundays every other week. (9am–2pm / 5pm–11pm)

About Me
I’m Rhys Bowler, 37, living independently in Treforest with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) — a muscle-wasting condition. I use a powered wheelchair and ventilator 24/7, and I’ve built a team of self-employed carers who support me in living a full and social life. That includes concerts, cinema, pub nights, and the occasional chaos.
I’m looking for someone reliable, chilled, and down-to-earth to join my team.
What I’m Looking For
Someone available for split shifts (9am–2pm / 5pm–11pm) every other weekend!
Confident supporting me on nights out (cinema, gigs, pubs — must be comfortable in social settings)
Must have a full UK driving licence and be confident driving my wheelchair-accessible van
Comfortable with personal care, hoisting, and manual handling
Respectful, trustworthy, and able to work independently
Self-Employment Setup
£16.85 per hour daytime split shifts
£101.10 per overnight block (11pm–9am)
Paid via invoice every 2 weeks.
You’ll work under a self-employment agreement (I can help you register if you’re new to this)
No Experience? No Problem.
Full training provided
You’ll work alongside experienced PAs and with my direct input
