Memorial Fixer & Headstone TechnicianOverview
Join a growing, purpose-led team where your work makes a real difference. As a Memorial Fixer & Headstone Technician, you'll repair, refix, restore and maintain memorials, helping preserve their appearance while ensuring they remain safe for visitors.
This is a hands-on, skilled role suited to an experienced individual who takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship and can work independently across multiple sites.
You'll travel to cemeteries and work sites across the UK using a company vehicle, with regular overnight stays required. This role involves working in sensitive environments and requires a professional, respectful and compassionate approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, refix and stabilise memorials in accordance with NAMM/BRAMM standards
- Carry out safety inspections and make safe unstable memorials
- Clean, restore and preserve memorials using specialist, non-abrasive techniques
- Complete restoration work, including lettering, finishing and applying protective treatments
- Maintain surrounding areas, including light weeding and tidying
- Take before-and-after photographs, maintain accurate service records and provide updates to the administration team
- Travel independently across the UK while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism
Skills & Requirements
- Current NAMM or BRAMM Memorial Fixer certification (essential)
- Experience repairing, refixing and restoring memorials
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Willingness to travel across the UK, including regular overnight stays
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship
- Organised, reliable and comfortable maintaining accurate records
- Professional, respectful and compassionate when working in cemeteries and around bereaved families
Working Pattern
Full-time role with a variable working pattern across the year.
During the warmer months, work is often structured across fewer, longer days, with regular overnight stays. In the colder months, work may be spread across more days with shorter working hours.
Flexibility is essential.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000–£33,000 per annum (depending on experience)
