Overview
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Self-Employed Multi-Drop Couriers to join our expanding team that currently consits of more than 60 drivers, delviering parcels to busineses and households across cornwall.
Van, fuel and insurances all supplied - however increased day rates are available if you wish to supply own LWB 3.5tn van.
This role involves delivering parcels efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely and professional service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent organisation, and effective communication abilities. As a self-employed courier, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while representing our reputable company.
Duties
- Collect parcels from the depot or designated collection points and verify delivery details
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and customer service levels
- Safely load and unload parcels, including handling heavy items when necessary
- Deliver parcels to customers at their specified addresses within scheduled timeframes
- Obtain proof of delivery digitaly with supplied scanners, maintaining accurate records
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding delivery times or issues
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of your vehicle, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations
- Report any delivery discrepancies or vehicle issues promptly to the relevant management team
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is advantageous
- Experience with heavy lifting and handling bulky parcels is beneficial
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Full UK or EU Driving License held for 2+ years with no more than 6 points (No IN, DR, DG, or TT codes).
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns enhances efficiency in delivery schedules
