Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian is an elegant Victorian hotel in the city centre, overlooking Union Terrace Gardens.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Food & Beverage Assistant to join our hotel team. If you enjoy delivering excellent service, working in a fast-paced environment, and creating memorable experiences for guests, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Serve food and drinks to a high standard.
- Set up and clear tables, ensuring all dining areas are clean and well-presented.
- Prepare beverages, including tea, coffee, and bar drinks (where applicable).
- Process payments and operate the till/POS system.
- Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, conferences, banquets, and special events as required.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and wider hotel team to deliver exceptional guest service.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in hospitality or food and beverage is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork skills and a professional appearance.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
