Night Care Assistant / Health Care Assistant
Melrose Care Home, a family run, 25 bed nursing home based in Worthing, West Sussex provide second-to-none care for our residents, offering a truly personal experience for everyone who lives with us.
As a nursing home rated “Outstanding” by CQC we are seeking to recruit a full-time night Health Care Assistant, to cover long term sickness, to join our committed and driven team and to uphold the same ethos and passion for care that we do.
The main duties to include, but not limited to:
· To provide personal care to residents, to include assisting with dressing/undressing, bathing, and using the toilet.
· To help care for residents temporarily sick and needing minor dressings, bed nursing (under the supervision of a RN)
· To help care for EOL residents
· Report the care given to residents using our in-house system
· To offer morning and evening food and drinks as and when required.
· To answer all bells, emergency bells, the front door, greet visitors and answer the telephone if the RN is unavailable
Salary: Excellent rates of pay dependent on experience.
Shift patterns comprise of:
· 8pm-8am (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night available) 3 nights required, flexible on the days listed.
Requirements
The right person will be/have:

· To be available to attend mandatory staff training and staff meetings.
Desirable
· NVQ in Health and Social Care (or willing to do your NVQ with Melrose)
· Previous care experience
· Knowledge in personal care
· Experience in working with older people
· Interest in staff training and development
