We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our company. The successful candidate will assist with bookkeeping, processing invoices, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting payroll and reporting activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a proactive approach to administrative and financial tasks. We will consider someone with work experience who wishes to pursue an apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, and expense claims.
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Support payroll administration and employee expense processing.
- Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants when required.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance function.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Must have previous work history.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Maths GCSE at grade 6 / B or above.
- A-levels / BTEC’s expected
Desirable
- Experience working within a small business environment.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
