Job Description
At Legal & General, assessment plays an important role in shaping senior hiring, succession and leadership development decisions across the organisation. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead and shape executive assessment activity at a pivotal point in the evolution of our strategy and culture.
You’ll be close to important leadership conversations, using your expertise in assessment, psychology and insight to help leaders and the business make confident, evidence-based decisions. Working across executive assessment, Hogan feedback and related development activity, you’ll bring rigour, curiosity and sound judgement to complex leadership decisions, while ensuring assessment is practical, commercially relevant and genuinely useful. It is the kind of role where a good conversation, a well-judged challenge or a carefully written paragraph can genuinely change how a leadership decision is made.
This is a part time role (3 days per week, and is a 12 month fixed term contract).
What you’ll be doing:
-
Leading high-profile executive assessment activity that supports senior hiring, succession and leadership development decisions
-
Conducting behavioural assessments, Hogan debriefs and leadership assessment discussions
-
Coaching senior leaders through Hogan feedback and helping them understand their impact and development opportunities
-
Producing clear, high-quality assessment reports and practical recommendations
-
Supporting onboarding and transition planning conversations following assessment activity
-
Partnering with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and business leaders as an expert advisor on leadership potential, risk and readiness
-
Connecting assessment activity across hiring, succession and development to create a joined-up, insight-led experience
-
Building confidence and capability in the internal assessment community through coaching, calibration and practical guidance
Who we’re looking for:
-
A Chartered Occupational Psychologist, or someone with an equivalent assessment background, ideally with an MSc in Occupational Psychology, Organisational Psychology or a closely related discipline
-
Significant experience delivering leadership and executive assessment in large, complex organisations
-
Strong experience coaching senior leaders and providing high-quality assessment feedback in corporate environments
-
Strong knowledge of Hogan assessments, including HPI, HDS and MVPI
-
Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear insight and practical recommendations
-
Experience supporting hiring, talent, succession and development decisions
-
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the judgement to balance professional rigour with commercial pragmatism
-
Confidence using AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency, insight and the quality of work
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
-
The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
-
Generous pension contribution
-
A company car allowance
-
Life assurance
-
At least 30 days holiday, plus public holidays. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
-
Competitive family leave
-
Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
-
There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
-
We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
