Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Waking Nights Housing Officer to provide essential support and oversight during overnight hours within our housing services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents, maintaining effective communication with team members and external agencies. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive community environment, working predominantly during night shifts to ensure continuous service coverage.
Location: Liverpool/Sefton
Hours: 36.75 hours per week – 3 x 12.25-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and safeguard residents during waking night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address any security or safety concerns.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of nightly activities, incidents, and resident interactions using appropriate systems.
- Liaise with external agencies, social workers, and healthcare professionals to support residents’ needs.
- Provide advice to residents regarding housing-related issues, promoting positive engagement.
- Facilitate conflict resolution through negotiation skills, ensuring a peaceful environment for all residents.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures during night shifts.
Requirements
- Previous experience in housing management or support work is desirable but not essential.
- Strong negotiation skills are essential for managing conflicts and supporting resident needs effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records accurately.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if required.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with an approachable manner.
- A commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting resident welfare at all times.
Pay: £13.45-£14.50 per hour
