The opportunity
As part of our continued investment in technology, artificial intelligence, and product innovation, we are seeking a hands-on, execution-oriented technology leader who thrives in complexity, creates clarity from ambiguity, and builds high-performing teams capable of delivering at scale to join our Technology organisation as VP, AI Engineering.
Reporting to the President, Technology & Chief Product Officer, this is a highly visible leadership opportunity responsible for building and scaling Envision Pharma Group's AI engineering capability across our global technology portfolio. You will lead the delivery of AI-powered solutions that create meaningful value for our clients, accelerate innovation across our products, and help shape the future of technology within a growing, private equity-backed organisation.
This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Data and Commercial strategy. You will be responsible for transforming AI opportunities into practical, scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes and drive measurable business impact. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will establish the operating model, governance, delivery frameworks and leadership structure required to successfully scale AI across our platforms, including iEnvision, Riparian and future technology offerings.

Role responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of AI-powered capabilities across Envision's technology portfolio, ensuring solutions are embedded within existing customer workflows and products rather than operating as standalone initiatives.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate business priorities and product strategy into scalable AI solutions.
- Ensure AI capabilities are fully integrated into broader product roadmaps, customer experiences and commercial objectives.
- Deliver measurable customer and business outcomes through the successful implementation of AI capabilities.
- Evaluate existing initiatives, identifying opportunities to accelerate, optimise, integrate or retire investments where appropriate.
- Establish clear priorities, governance and execution frameworks to support successful delivery.
- Lead, develop and inspire a globally distributed AI engineering team.
- Create an operating model that enables high-quality delivery, collaboration and accountability across multiple geographies.
- Establish engineering standards, delivery cadence, governance and operational excellence practices.
- Develop smart-shoring strategies that support sustainable growth while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Recruit, mentor and retain exceptional AI engineering talent.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Experience, Security, Data and Enterprise Technology leaders.
- Build strong partnerships that ensure AI investments align with customer needs, business priorities and product strategy.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable business outcomes for executive stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of partnership, innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, helping shape decisions that drive long-term value creation.
- Establish governance, monitoring and evaluation frameworks for production AI environments.
- Ensure AI solutions are delivered consistently, securely and at scale.
- Balance innovation with commercial discipline, operating effectively within a high-growth, private equity-backed environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance across the business through AI-enabled solutions.
- Drive execution with pace and discipline, ensuring focus remains on outcomes rather than activity.
We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded technology leader with a proven track record of building and scaling AI engineering organisations.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership capability and a passion for delivering practical business outcomes. They will be equally comfortable defining direction, building teams, influencing stakeholders and driving execution.
Skills & expertise
- Significant experience leading AI/ML engineering teams and delivering production AI solutions at scale.
- Proven experience embedding AI capabilities into broader software platforms, products or customer solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), model evaluation, observability and AI operations.
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams across multiple regions.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, establish operating models and drive organisational transformation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders to align technology investments with product strategy, customer needs and business priorities.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to operate successfully within a high-accountability, growth-focused environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and create alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
- A builder mindset, with the resilience, curiosity and adaptability required to thrive in an evolving organisation.
- A track record of creating structure, driving accountability and delivering results in environments undergoing significant growth and change.
- Healthcare, life sciences, regulated SaaS or complex B2B technology environments.
- Experience within private equity-backed organisations.
- Experience leading smart-shoring, offshore or globally distributed engineering models.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
