Job Summary for Contract / Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer
MUST BE IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE (WITHIN ONE WEEK) TO START THE CONTRACT
Key responsibilities:
- To meet a range of design challenges which include materials, bearings and seals within a pressure envelope.
- Working within the project plans and critical timescales.
- Create mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings.
- Test skid design.
- Select suitable materials, manufacturing processes, and standard components.
- Perform engineering calculations related to stress, load, fatigue, vibration, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
- Present design concepts and engineering solutions.
- Apply relevant standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, BS, EN standards).
Desired experience:
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience in the design of moving and rotating equipment.
- Excellence in 2D and 3D CAD, Autodesk Inventor is advantageous.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and deliver associated outputs to meet business needs.
- To be highly organised and accurate in presentation.
- Experience of mechanical FEA and pressure vessel regulations a non-essential advantage.
- Experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
This will be an in-person role that will be based in Elland, West Yorkshire. A PC/Workstation and Autodesk Inventor license will be provided.
Pay: £30.00-£40.00 per hour
