About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Private Chef to join a high-end private household in London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality daily meals, designing seasonal menus, and catering for occasional formal dinners, business entertaining, and family events.
This role is particularly suited to a professional chef with strong experience in French and Spanish cuisine who can work independently, maintain consistently high standards, and adapt menus to the household’s preferences and dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality daily meals for household members, primarily lunch and dinner.
- Design and regularly update menus featuring French and Spanish cuisine.
- Prepare meals for formal dinners, business entertaining, family gatherings, and other private events.
- Produce a range of dishes, including starters, steaks, seafood, main courses, side dishes, desserts, and refined plated presentations.
- Adapt menus to individual dietary preferences, allergies, health requirements, and seasonal availability.
- Plan ingredient purchasing and source high-quality produce within agreed budgets.
- Manage kitchen stock, food storage, rotation, and inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professionally managed kitchen.
- Follow all applicable food hygiene, allergen management, and health and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with household staff or external suppliers where required.
Essential Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional culinary experience, ideally with a strong focus on French or Spanish cuisine.
- Demonstrable experience preparing restaurant-quality meals and refined presentations.
- Strong knowledge of meat, seafood, sauces, starters, desserts, and seasonal menu planning.
- Ability to manage all kitchen duties independently.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
- Professional, discreet, reliable, and respectful of household confidentiality.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working as a Private Chef or Household Chef.
- Experience within a Michelin-starred restaurant, luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or high-end private household.
- Formal culinary training or a recognised professional cookery qualification.
- Food Hygiene certification.
- Experience catering for private events and formal dining occasions.
- Knowledge of nutritional, allergy-sensitive, or health-focused menu planning.

- Probationary salary of £3,500–£4,000 per month, depending on experience.
