Job role: Business Operations Coordinator
Location: York Hybrid or Edinburgh Hybrid (3 office days)
Department: Operations Team
Reports to: Head of Business Operations
We do big things with a small (but growing) team
At Apatura, we develop projects that power clean energy and a thriving digital world — from battery storage to data centres. It’s complex, high impact work, delivered by a small, highly capable team who move quickly and care deeply about doing things well.
We’re driven by bold ideas, a strong sense of purpose and a willingness to challenge how things are usually done. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a practical, hands-on Business Operations Coordinator to join in this brand new role.
With a growing pipeline of projects and clear plans to expand the business, this role offers the chance to play a key part in supporting Apatura’s next stage of growth.
About the role
This is a varied coordination role focused on helping the business run smoothly day-to-day. You’ll support operational delivery across a range of projects, initiatives, and business activities - keeping actions on track, ensuring deadlines are met, and helping teams stay aligned.
You’ll work across multiple functions, supporting planning, reporting, project coordination, meetings, tracking, and operational processes. This role would suit someone who is highly organised, proactive, detail-focused, and enjoys bringing structure and momentum to busy environments.
No two days will look exactly the same, so we’re looking for someone adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable juggling priorities while maintaining a high standard of organisation and follow-through.
What you’ll do
· Coordinate day-to-day operational activities across teams
· Track actions, deliverables, and deadlines to ensure progress and accountability
· Support delivery of operational initiatives and cross-functional workstreams
· Manage smaller projects and workstreams from planning through to delivery
· Maintain project plans, trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools
· Prepare agendas, coordinate meetings, and follow up on actions
· Support reporting activities and help maintain accurate business information
· Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where needed
· Help improve operational processes and ways of working
· Support rollout and adoption of business systems and tools
· Maintain governance documentation, trackers, and operational records
· Build strong working relationships across the business and become a trusted point of coordination and support
What we’re looking for
· Experience in an operations, coordination, project support, or business support role
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
· Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
· Confident communicator who can build relationships across different teams and stakeholders
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
· Strong administrative and coordination capability, with good follow-through
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and track information clearly
· Experience using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
· Exposure to project coordination, reporting, tracking, or operational processes would be beneficial
· Experience with project management or reporting tools is an advantage but not essential
What we offer
· Private medical care with Bupa (household included)
· Enhanced pension scheme
· EV salary sacrifice scheme + cycle-to-work scheme
· 30 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays to start, increasing with length of service, plus additional leave over the Christmas period
· Access to free, confidential counselling and other wellbeing resources through our Employee Assistance Programme
· Life assurance scheme at 6x salary
The details
· Full-time, permanent role
· Based in York or Edinburgh
· Hybrid working (3 days in the office)
