Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel operations and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout our two hotels all located in Canterbury, while also managing and training housekeeping staff. The hours would be 20 hrs weekly to begin based over 5 days this would include some weekends.
Duties
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Address guest inquiries or complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Develop and implement housekeeping schedules to ensure efficient coverage throughout the establishment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery for guests.
Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or hotel industry is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff and guests.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate a team to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols is advantageous.
- Proficient in time management with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
