Reports to: Production Supervisor
Role Overview: Based at our Tallington site and working a rotational shift pattern, the successful candidate will provide maintenance support across machinery, mould tooling, equipment, and facilities. The role will focus on tooling changeovers, preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting the continuous improvement of production processes to maximise efficiency and uptime.
What our new Tool Technician will be doing:
· Operating equipment in line with Health & Safety procedures and ensuring that this is adhered to at all times.
· Carrying out tool changeovers safely and efficiently to support production requirements.
· Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with maintenance schedules.
· Diagnosing and resolving machine breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
· Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across machinery, tooling, equipment, and facilities.
· Ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
· Supporting production teams and management to maintain operational efficiency.
· Working collaboratively to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and performance.
· Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.
· Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures and standards at all times.
· Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within maintenance and production areas.
· Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence activities.
The experience our new Tool Technician will have includes:
· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Previous experience in mould tooling.
· Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
· Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
· Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
· Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations.
· Basic knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to work rotational shifts.
· Previous experience within injection moulding desirable.
· LEAN Manufacturing experience desirable.
· PDCA cycle experience desirable.
· IOSH or NEBOSH certification desirable.
· Formal Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification desirable.
