WildBulb is looking for a new self employed team member to join our small gardening company based in Totteridge & Whetstone area.
We are a small but fast growing gardening business with a great local reputation in the Barnet area. We take pride in offering a friendly, reliable and high quality service, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
Experience in gardening is welcome, but not essential. What matters most is having the right attitude. We’re looking for someone reliable, hard working, positive and willing to learn.
This is a physical outdoor job, so you need to be happy working in all weather conditions and not be afraid of hard work. Reliability is extremely important, as our clients depend on us and we take pride in providing a consistent, professional service.
The right candidate should:
- Be registered as self employed or happy to become self employed
- Have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail & time management
- Take pride in making gardens look their best
- Enjoy transforming outdoor spaces and seeing the results of their work
- Be punctual, trustworthy and dependable
- Be happy working outdoors throughout the year
- Be comfortable with physical work
- Be willing to learn new skills and get involved in different areas of the business
- Ideally have a driving licence (not essential), with the possibility of attending some jobs independently once fully trained and confident
- Have good communication and people skills (especially if interested in taking on more responsibility in the future)
The work is varied and includes:
- Regular garden maintenance
- Garden clearances and bringing overgrown spaces back under control
- Planting and creating new borders
- Soft landscaping projects
- Laying new turf
- Lawn treatments and improvements
- Hedge cutting, pruning and general garden care
- Pressure washing
- Outdoor painting jobs such as sheds, fences and decking
- Occasional cleaning jobs for properties we maintain (such as cleaning and hoovering communal areas)
As WildBulb Gardens continues to grow, there will be opportunities for the right person to take on more responsibility, including managing another gardener and running jobs independently. This would suit someone with good organisation, leadership and people skills who wants to progress with the business.
WildBulb also has a creative terrarium branch, designing and creating unique handmade terrariums inside real lightbulbs. There may be opportunities to get involved with this side of the business too, including helping sell our terrariums at local Christmas markets and events if this is something you’re interested in.
The gardening role is seasonal, with unpaid time off usually between Christmas and February. An end of year bonus is provided to help support you during the quieter winter period. As earnings are lower during this period, we highly recommend you make the most out of the high season.
Working hours:
8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (Saturday work available)
Pay:
- Starting from £110 per day
- £120 per day for candidates with previous gardening experience
Extra earning opportunities:
Additional hours available at £20/hour, with opportunities to work longer days and weekends if you’d like to increase your earnings.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being outdoors, likes practical work, and wants to be part of a small business where their hard work can make a real difference.
If you’re reliable and self motivated, we’d love to hear from you.
Pay: From £110.00 per day
Benefits:
Work Location: On the road
