We are recruiting for an experienced fire alarm professional to support the Project Manager in delivering fire detection and alarm installation works across projects. You will oversee site activities, ensure compliance with relevant standards (including BS 5839‑1), and coordinate installation, testing of fire alarm systems, ensure quality assurance and manage health and safety for staff and company on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Project Manager with the delivery of fire alarm installation works.
- Reviewing and managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and ensuring all fire alarm installations meet specification and statutory requirements.
- Coordinating labour, installation and inspection activities with engineers and commissioning teams.
- Monitoring site quality, ensuring devices, cabling, containment and panel works are installed correctly and in line with BS 5839‑1 and project drawings.
- Managing subcontractors and liaising with site teams, ensuring smooth coordination across multiple work fronts.
- Carrying out site inspections, identifying issues early and resolving technical queries related to fire alarm installation.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health, safety and quality procedures.
- Working closely with stakholders, electrical teams and the client throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates from a practical fire alarm or electrical site background, including:
- Fire Alarm Installation Supervisor
- Construction Site Manager
- Fire Alarm Engineer
- Electrical Supervisor with fire alarm installation experience
- Fire & Security Project Engineer
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience installing commercial or industrial fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of BS 5839‑1 and fire alarm installation best practice.
- Experience reviewing ITPs, inspection processes and testing plans.
- Background supporting commissioning activities, including cause‑and‑effect testing.
- A proactive approach and confidence coordinating multiple installation teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors, engineers and client representatives.
Desirable Experience
- Installation of addressable fire alarm systems (e.g., Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C‑Tec, Apollo, Hochiki).
- Experience with AOVs, smoke ventilation interfaces, sprinklers, or other life‑safety systems.
- Understanding of LV electrical systems related to fire alarm integration.
- Working on large commercial, residential, industrial or utilities projects.

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
