Overview
Pentraeth Services is seeking an experienced, motivated Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of our busy forecourt and retail site in Pentraeth. Working closely with the Store Manager and a large team, you will help drive sales, uphold high standards, and deliver key KPIs.
This is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced environment where you will play a central part in motivating the team, maintaining morale, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Your typical working week is approximately 42.25 hours, including every other weekend, with flexibility required during peak trading periods.
On‑call duties apply every other week; however, you will not be on‑call on the evening before a scheduled day off, during your weekend off, or on any of your days off.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily store operations.
- Maintain high operational and organisational standards across the site.
- Manage the sales floor to maximise profitability and ensure excellent customer service.
- Develop and manage rotas for opening, closing, and daily staffing requirements.
- Ensure efficient functioning of all shop departments and services.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Order stock from suppliers and ensure adequate availability across the shop.
- Oversee stock levels, seasonal rotation, and product availability.
- Conduct daily and weekly stock counts.
- Manage shop specials, promotions, and seasonal changes.
- Control inventory to minimise waste and maintain cost efficiency.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Complete daily till balancing and cash reconciliation.
- Process invoices accurately and promptly.
- Support pricing strategy and cost‑control measures.
People Management
- Lead by example as a strong role model and mentor.
- Handle management issues professionally, including disciplinaries and grievances.
- Manage holiday planning, rotas, and staffing levels.
Customer Experience
- Ensure a friendly, welcoming, and efficient environment for all customers.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service.
- Respond quickly to operational challenges and customer needs.
