Job Title: Studio Assistant - Pottery Painting Studio & Bar
Location: Ambleside, Lake District
Pay: £14 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible (including evenings, weekends, and peak holiday periods)
About Us
We are a new, vibrant pottery painting studio and bar in the heart of Ambleside. We provide a relaxed, creative environment where guests can paint pottery while enjoying a curated selection of drinks and light snacks. Our focus is on creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every customer.
The Role
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Studio Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the studio. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people in a creative and sociable setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming customers and helping them get started with their pottery painting experience
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a relaxed, friendly atmosphere
- Serving drinks and light snacks
- Assisting with bookings, walk-ins, and group sessions
- Preparing materials, glazing, firing, and general studio setup/clear-down
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the studio
- Supporting the Studio Manager and team during busy periods
- Handling payments and card transactions
About You
- Friendly, approachable, and confident with customers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Previous hospitality or retail experience is helpful but not essential
- Interest in arts, crafts, or creative activities is a bonus (no previous experience in pottery or crafts required – training provided).
