RJ Mitchell and Son Limited have been serving Bath and the surrounding area for over 45 years. We provide heating, air conditioning and plumbing services to domestic properties. Due to customer demand, we are now expanding our services to include general maintenance (handyman/woman services).
The role
We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable Handyman/woman to join our busy team in and around the Bath area. We would consider both self-employed and employed applications. You will be responsible for undertaking a wide variety of domestic and small commercial property maintenance, repair, and refurbishment tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- General Maintenance: Perform general property upkeep, fixtures and fittings repairs, and basic carpentry.
- Painting & Decorating: Execute high-quality interior painting, patching, and making good.
- Minor Plumbing: This would be based on successful applicant’s experience.
- Carpentry & Tiling: Assist with minor joinery, door hanging, and wall/floor tiling.
- Aging in place services: Grab rails and handrails.
- Site Management: Work independently, manage your daily schedule efficiently, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Trade Experience: Proven track record with a minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on experience across multiple trades.
- Transport & Equipment: If self-employed, own reliable van and full set of standard hand and power tools are preferred. If employed, van will be supplied but own personal hand kit will be expected.
- Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license.
- Tax Compliance: Self-employed must be registered under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) with HMRC, or willing to register prior to commencing work.
- Professionalism: Punctual, polite, and capable of delivering high-quality workmanship with minimal supervision. Willingness to provide excellent customer service.
