Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. Applicants should have relevant nursery experience and a strong commitment to fostering children's growth in their formative years.
Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and organised activities
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare
- Monitor individual progress and provide feedback to parents during regular meetings
- Assist with daily routines such as dressing, feeding, and nappy changing when necessary
- Lead small groups of children in learning activities, encouraging curiosity and independence
- Support the management team in organising nursery events and staff training sessions
- Uphold policies related to safeguarding, behaviour management, and equality
Skills
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong management and leadership abilities to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and childcare best practices
- Ability to organise activities that stimulate learning while ensuring safety at all times
- Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding towards young children’s needs
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site events
