About the Role
Avtron is a global leader in the design and manufacture of Load Banks and Dynamometers, supplying customers across the power generation, utilities, defence and industrial sectors. We are committed to engineering excellence, innovation and delivering quality products right first time.
We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our busy operations facility and play a key role in ensuring products are tested safely, accurately and efficiently across our load bank product range.
Working closely with the Test Leader, Quality Manager, Production and Engineering teams, you will support the delivery of customer orders, identify and resolve technical issues, and help maintain Avtron's right-first-time culture. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong electrical testing and fault-finding skills who enjoys practical problem-solving and working collaboratively across a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day product testing to meet customer delivery schedules, ensuring test processes and statutory requirements are followed.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales and Customer Services to identify, report and resolve issues affecting product quality and delivery.
- Support customer and third-party witness testing, as well as the training and verification of personnel carrying out test activities.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities, support root cause and corrective action activities, and contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Promote safe working practices and a right-first-time culture, ensuring accurate reporting of quality, safety and technical issues.
Job Requirements:
- HNC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Proven experience in electrical testing, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills and a good understanding of electrical test processes and test documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions.
