Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 2 to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating our clamshell bucket grab lorries to deliver goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The ideal applicant will possess a valid Class 2 licence, with prior commercial driving and delivery experience preferred.
Duties
- Safely operate lorries in accordance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of waste during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any delays
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures throughout daily operations
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence (Category C)
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best driving practices
- Ability to operate lorries safely and efficiently under various conditions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required
