Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our wholesale meat business. This is a full-time position based out of Smithfield Market, involving early morning collections and deliveries to customers across London and the Home Counties, including Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.
Company administration and support are based at Ascot Business Park, Lyndhurst Rd, Ascot SL5 9ED. Ideally, we are looking for a driver who lives locally, enabling flexibility for occasional evening collections from our unit when required.
This role is well suited to someone dependable who takes pride in their work, vehicle, and customer service.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 1:30am start at Smithfield Market
- 40-hour week (often finishing early once deliveries are completed)
Key Responsibilities
- Collect wholesale meat orders from Smithfield Market
- Deliver chilled meat products to customers across London, Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.
- Safely load and unload deliveries, ensuring correct handling of products
- Maintain strict cold-chain integrity during transport
- Keep the company 3.5-tonne van extremely clean and well maintained at all times
- Take full responsibility for the company van, which can be kept at your home
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time
- Communicate effectively with the office regarding deliveries and any issues
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Represent T & G Wholesale Meats professionally with customers
Skills & Experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous delivery driving experience preferred (food or refrigerated delivery an advantage)
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Comfortable with early morning starts
- Physically fit and capable of manual lifting
- High standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ideally based near Ascot or surrounding areas to allow flexibility for unit collections
