Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people?
-
Do you want to be a part of a values led, driven and innovative team developing the UK’s first secure school?
We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone with practical cleaning skills and experience in cleaning and facilities industry to join a dedicated team of Cleaning Operatives at Oasis Restore, the first secure school in England. Oasis Restore represents a revolution in youth justice: an opportunity for children within the criminal justice system to experience a restorative environment that creates the potential for them to thrive in the future. We have dual registered as a 16-19 Academy and Secure Children’s Home.
As part of the facilities team, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest professional standards while assisting your fellow cleaning operatives and the Soft Services Manager in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will ensure compliance with the relevant regulations, perform routine and ad-hoc cleaning tasks, and support various property and estate functions where required.
Your role also includes safeguarding the site during adverse weather conditions and contributing to a collaborative and purposeful atmosphere, including offering occasional supervision to volunteers / students seeking practical experience.
Additionally, you will serve as a key contact point for housekeeping-related property and estate matters at Oasis Restore, providing essential support to the Principal Director, Oasis Restore staff, and external service providers.
The role exists within a secure academy trust, benefiting from the organisational learning in governance and leadership within a national academy trust. This role reports to the Facilities Manager who has responsibility for the school’s maintenance and standards related to site and operations.
You and the team will work to support a team of specialists within education, care, and health and you will attend to all aspects of cleaning at Oasis Restore to ensure we achieve the highest quality standards in the Children's Homes Regulations and Guidance, the Social Care Common Inspection Framework and health and safety.

Our aim is for children to value their time at Oasis Restore, to enjoy learning, and to leave ready to contribute to society. We acknowledge that traumatic early life experiences, adversity and exploitation negatively affect the children we serve and those around them, including the victims of their crimes. Young people placed at the secure school will need to come to terms with the consequences of their criminal behaviour: the sentence is their punishment.
Our job is to listen and understand the stories behind those actions, to support them to start making amends in whatever ways they can, and to help them build the skills they need for a positive future.
