GSS is looking for a Tendering / Business Development professional to help identify, shape and win opportunities across the utilities, power and infrastructure sectors. This is a key role for someone who can combine client development, tender strategy and strong bid coordination.
Experience with National Grid, SPEN, DNOs or other utility clients would be highly advantageous. Candidates with a background in gas, water or broader infrastructure will also be considered where they understand framework-led and NEC-style project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across utilities and infrastructure markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, consultants and supply chain contacts.
- Manage tender opportunities from initial review through to submission.
- Coordinate bid strategy, tender documentation, technical input, commercial input and programme information.
- Work with estimating, planning, engineering, commercial and delivery teams to produce high-quality submissions.
- Support framework submissions, pre-qualification documents, capability statements and client presentations.
- Maintain visibility of market activity, client pipelines and upcoming opportunities.
Experience & Skills
Tendering, bids, proposals or business development experience in utilities, power, transmission and distribution, gas, water or infrastructure.
- Understanding of NEC4 or similar contract/project environments would be beneficial.
- Strong written communication and ability to coordinate technical and commercial information.
- Commercial awareness and ability to assess opportunities, risks and win strategy.
- Confident relationship builder with clients, delivery teams and supply chain partners.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines.
