Job Summary
We are seeking a professional LGV 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating refrigerated lorries to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills, with a commitment to providing outstanding service to our clients. Responsibilities
- Safely operate LGV 2 lorries in accordance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and secure goods, ensuring proper handling and safety during transit
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, maintaining punctuality and reliability
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checks on brakes, tyres, lights, and load security equipment
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during driving and loading activities
- Assist with loading or unloading when required, ensuring the safe handling of goods
Qualifications
- Valid LGV 2 (Category C) licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Ability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently under various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Flexibility to work scheduled shifts as required, including early mornings or late finishes if necessary
Pay rates:
Temp to Perm £14.20 for the 1st 8 hours, overtime and Saturdays will be paid at £21.30.
Add hoc work covering holidays and sickness will be paid at £15.00 per hour.
