As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding team, based from either our Stirling or Glasgow office. This role will be working on some of Scotland's most exciting renewable energy project!
It’s a great time to join the team. We have a strong pipeline of projects across Scotland and the Highlands, giving you the opportunity to work on challenging and varied ground engineering projects in some of the country’s most spectacular environments.
Our work spans major onshore wind, grid infrastructure, energy storage and hydro developments, with projects ranging from remote upland sites to major transmission and infrastructure schemes.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved across the full project lifecycle, from planning and designing ground investigations, through site delivery and interpretation of ground conditions, to reporting and providing geotechnical input into project design.
No two projects are quite the same. You could find yourself working with drilling rigs on a remote Highland site, interpreting complex rock and soil conditions, helping plan an investigation for major energy infrastructure, or working alongside our wider engineering and environmental teams to solve practical challenges in the field.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys practical geotechnical engineering, wants to continue developing technically, and is keen to take on increasing responsibility as part of a supportive and experienced team.
Main Responsibilities:

Assist with project management & delivery of Geotechnical Investigation Projects;

Scoping, planning, resource management, quality and standards control, client facing and budget
control within each project. -
Site-based working including geotechnical drilling supervision, core logging, trial pitting and in-situ
testing. -
Geotechnical reporting including: Geoenvironmental and Geotechnical Desk Study, Factual &
Interpretive Ground Investigation Reports, Stability Reports and Geotechnical Risk Assessment. -
Geotechnical data management including laboratory testing work.

Strong working knowledge of UK Construction Design Management regulations including ability to
plan, manage and supervise safe systems of work. -
Weekly progress reporting to wider team, time tracking and independent self-discipline to deliver all
work on time and to budget. -
Commercially focussed and cost conscious able to identify opportunities and improve efficiency.
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week.
