Optical Assistant – Bury, Greater Manchester
Salary: £25,000 – £26,000 DOE
Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours per week | Full or Part Time
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
We are working with a leading independent online eyewear retailer to recruit an experienced Optical Assistant to join their head office team near Bury.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Optical Assistant who enjoys the technical and customer-focused side of optics but would like to move away from a traditional practice environment.
You'll use your optical knowledge to support customers with frame and lens selection, prescriptions, orders and aftercare, communicating via email, live chat and telephone.
The Role
- Provide advice on prescription lenses, frames and sunglasses
- Support customers with frame and lens selection
- Respond to enquiries via email, live chat and telephone
- Assist with orders, amendments, tracking and aftercare
- Resolve customer queries and concerns efficiently
- Accurately manage and record customer interactions
About You
We're looking for somebody with previous Optical Assistant experience who is confident using their optical knowledge in a customer-focused environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as an Optical Assistant
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confidence communicating via phone, email and live chat
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
